About Anne Marie Nest-Pinero

For two decades, I have worked in higher education as a Professor of Voice & Speech at Research 1 institutions and top conservatories teaching both graduates and undergraduates a wide range of topics centering around public speaking, voice, and performance.

I use the tools of high-level performance training to assist clients in embodying executive presence and becoming more effective and persuasive speakers. In addition to 1:1 and small group coaching, I have delivered keynotes and workshops for the Fortune 500, AMLaw 200, and Research 1 Institutions.

My extensive experience as a professional performer informs and enhances all my coaching and speaking. As a long-time member of SAG/AFTRA and Actors Equity, I have performed in the best regional and off-Broadway theatres, as well as in many television shows and independent films.

I have an MFA with a concentration in voice studies from the National Theatre Conservatory, and a BA Communications, summa cum laude, from Chapman University. I am also an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework and a trained mediator through Columbia University.

FAQ

How much time does it take master executive presence or public speaking? What can we really accomplish in three months?
These are skills you can work on for a lifetime, but there is quite a lot we can accomplish in just a few months. How much and how fast you improve is up to you. I’m like a personal trainer: I teach you the exercises you need to reach your goals, but it’s your job to do the heavy lifting by putting these strategies into practice. If you’re committed to practicing new techniques, you can often see significant improvement after 3-6 sessions.

If you are tired of staying stuck in your career because you don’t have that executive presence X factor, you’re tired of delegating presentations to more confident members of their teams, or you’re done being passed over for promotions that come with greater visibility, then it’s time to invest in coaching.

Do you work with clients remotely?
Yes, I offer 1:1 and small group coaching remotely.
Will my company pay for coaching?
Many clients use professional development funds to pay for coaching. I’m happy to give you a proposal you can share with your manager or learning and development team to seek funding for coaching.
I know nothing about public speaking. Do you work with beginners?
Absolutely! I work with speakers at all levels, from clients who have long avoided public speaking at all costs to clients who are accomplished speakers and want to take their skills to the next level. My 1:1 coaching is customized to meet you where you are, tackle your unique challenges, and accomplish your specific goals.
Can you customize a training for my team?
Yes! If you don’t see what you’re looking for in my list of trainings or you’re not sure exactly what your team needs, please contact me so I can customize a training for you. One of my favorite parts of my job is working with a client to design a new training that perfectly suits the needs of your team.
What happens during a coaching session?
My coaching sessions are 100% focused on your personal goals, so each session is different. During one session, you might work on tackling your anxiety over impromptu speaking. During another, you might prepare your next big talk and then watch a recording of it. And in another meeting, you might do delivery skills exercises and get real-time feedback on your executive presence. You’ll leave each session with tools you can use to reinforce core concepts and keep growing between sessions.
What if I decide I don’t have time for our sessions after I pay?
I don’t offer refunds, but we can always put the coaching on hold until your life has room for it!
I need to learn English. Can you help me with that?
No, but I do offer communication coaching to both native and non-native English speakers and have worked with hundreds of clients for whom English is a second or third language. When I work with non-native English speakers, I often help them adjust their pace, emphasis, and presentation structure to maximize clarity.
I want to learn how to be a motivational speaker. Do you offer a package for that?
If you need a coach to help you craft a powerful and inspiring talk, I’m an expert at helping you shape your content and nail your delivery. If you’re looking for someone to help you master the business side of becoming a professional speaker, that’s not my area of expertise.
Where are you located? Where does coaching or training take place?
I am based in Denver, CO. I work with clients both remotely and in person, at your place of employment or a rented private office space.
